Echofon for iPhone

Echofon just keeps getting better - I use it on the iPhone as well as on the Mac desktop. It's the one Twitter client that I keep coming back to ... and I have tried quite a few. I have an inherent tendency to despise Adobe AIR so anything that is "native" if getting my vote and Echofon consistently provides a stable, enjoyable and efficient experience for me.

EchoFon keeps getting better with every build. The functionality is simple, the brand-new v3.0 interface is stellar (much easier to play with the settings than previously), and push notifications for @ mentions and DM's is a fantastic touch for Pro users. I tried several free versions of Twitter apps for my iPhone before I tried TwitterFon, and after just a few hours of use I was convinced enough to buy the Pro version. My only teeny tiny quibble with 3.0 is merely cosmetic. They've changed the look of the themes and I feel that the way your unread tweets appear is not as obvious as previously. This will not deter me from using EchoFon however, as this is a small detail on an otherwise excellent app.

Very cool and very smart. A must have!!! I use this app all the time. It functions how you wish Twitter did, and now I get frustrated with the limitations Twitter has vs Echofon. e.g. Simple RTs. Auto-loads new tweets even while its running without losing where you are on the screen. Take pic from iPhone and make it part of your tweet. Post your location. Browse to links without leaving to open Safari. Favorites are easy to mark and review. etc. etc. etc. (Would get a fifth star if I could filter tweets by username from the main menu. Kind of like the search option but auto-fill username as I type. Then I can quickly click their name to see their thread. Sometimes I just want to see what one specific user has been saying without having to scroll and hunt for their name. @Echofon - add a quick filter by user button to main screen. I've tried several Twitter apps for iPhone and I love Echofon. The Pro version allows push notifications for mentions and DM's for any user. The free version just allows notifications for users that are using Echofon. Also, when using Darkslide Pro iPhone app for Flickr you can send a link of a favourite picture to Echofon and loads up with a blank tweet with the link to the flickr photograph. I've tried this with other leading twitter iPhone apps and they don't seem to work properly. The desktop version of Echofon also supports lists and the other great feature is that you can sync your read/unread tweets between your iPhone and desktop so you don't have to go trawling through hundreds of tweets to find the start of the ones you haven't read. Brilliant app.

Twitter usage on iPhones must be out of this world and while there are many great apps for Twitter including Seesmic, Hootsuite, Tweetie and Tweetdeck, I like EchoFon the best. It’s amazingly easy to switch between multiple accounts, its fast and there’s an auto-complete feature when typing in Twitter handles that saves a lot of time. It works with lists very nicely but does not offer scheduled tweeting, which I don’t personally use much anyway.

Echofon (formerly Twitterfon) continues to be my main twitter app for my iPhone. It's easy to use, has a friendly interface, and a solid browser for links and pics. I'm a fan!

Love it. But Push Notifications with 15 minutes os delay is not good.

Every time a new Twitter iPhone App comes out I download it and give it a whirl, and I keep coming back to Echofon (formerly Twitterfon). It sets the bar that all other apps are measured.

I started using Echofon back when it was called Twitterfon and was impressed by the simplicity it offered. Since then, I've stuck with it because it's speedy and has a clean interface, which is exactly what I want from a Twitter iPhone app.

I like this app, especially the interface. It have Replies, DMs, Geo-location, etc. It have all what a app must have.By the way it is now called Echofon.

This is my fav! The direct messaging and easy @ replies make all the difference! It's also now called "Echofon" on the itunes app store. There's also a desktop client for the mac to come! Can't wait!

My absolute fave Twitter client. I have several others loaded, but this one does exactly what I want it to do - it follows my train of thought. I bought the pro version.

A really solid and simple twitter client for the iPhone. I've tried a bunch of other fancy ones but I keep coming back to Twitterfon because it has all the features I want, a clean UI and the right price tag.
