Tweetie for Mac

Shame the ad-free version's quite expensive but the developer's promised free upgrades to version 2 when it comes out. I'm probably spoilt cause the iPhone version is so damn cheap. It's a great app so I coughed up anyway.

Not as full featured on the Mac as it seems on the iPhone, where it's the best, but it's compact and clean.

Not sure what I would do without my Tweetie. If you use manage multiple accounts on a mac, this is a Twitter client you must try out.

The best Twitter app by far and I've tried them all. I really wish there was something even close to this app on the PC.

For someone that consumes Twitter as drops in a stream rather than trying to consume everything that's ever posted, this is the perfect app. Intuitive interface, wonderful design, but the best part? Keyboard shortcuts. Amazing application.

First the bad news... If you follow hundreds of people, this is not going to be useful because of the lack of groups. I stopped using this solely for that reason. There is also no URL shortener which is almost a must now days. Power users need to try Tweetdeck or Seesmic Desktop, but not Tweetie for mac. With that being said... This is BY FAR the best UI of any desktop twitter client I have used either on the Mac or the PC. It's clean, smooth, and actually a joy to use. If you're not a power user and just want a steady stream of tweets coming your way the the ability to reply, retweet, and send DM, maybe attached a pic or two, then this is YOUR twitter client. I do still use it occasionally when I'm in Twitter overload and need to scale back a bit.

Best desktop app I've used. Better than Twitterific, better than Bluebird, TweetDeck, etc., etc. I haven't used the mobile app yet (been happy with the free Twitterific mobile app).

Used to be the best Twitter client for Mac in the past. No updates since months. Development seems to be discontinued. Missing major native features of twitter e.g. retweet. Don't invest your money! Complete waste of money.

Tweetie Mac lacks only one thing - support for Twitter list management. It's beautiful across 4 dimensions: UI, functionality, visual design, and price (the ads in the free version are not bothersome).

It looks and works like something right out of Apple HQ. Posting links and images is simple and easy. I love it and can't wait for the next version!

I try every new version of every Mac Desktop Twitter client. I changed my primary client at least once a week, until Tweetie was released. Since the first time I tried it, Tweetie has been my primary client. I still try out all the new releases with an open mind, but I haven't switched yet. I have a feeling I'll become even more set in my ways after v.2 comes out. I find the app to be performant, easy to use, and aesthetically pleasing. It allows you to save searches, and even though Tweetie is a 'single column' client, I can take my searches and tear them off into their own window/column. There are only two areas that I feel could be improved. As mentioned in other reviews, groups would be useful. I would also like a view whereby I can see either all the DMs I have received, split out from the DMs I have sent. Now, all DMs are grouped by conversation w/specific users. All-in-all, I like Tweetie better than any of the other desktop clients, even though the other clients have improved by leaps and bounds.

My absolute favorite Mac Twitter application, even though you cannot currently make groups or have multiple accounts. It's *that* great. I know version 2 is right around the corner and I'm craving some of those updates.
