TweetDeck

I use this app on at least 3 different machines. It is THE way I post, search and keep track. Only qualm is when the Twitter API/availability gets sluggish and my Tweet just sits there, but that's not really Tweetdeck's problem

Yes, it's a little resource intensive, but the functionality it gives is a great tradeoff for that.

It's a little bulky. It is very powerful with it's group features and Facebook integration. Displaying multiple groups at a time is great, but like I said: bulky

One of the most useful Twitter clients on the Mac: full featured, group support, powerful filtering and multi-columned.

My desktop app of choice. For anyone following more than a handful of tweeps, it's a must-have. I have some minor UI gripes but nothing that makes this any less than a five star app.

I'm not sure the specs on some of these people's machines, but TweetDeck doesn't slow my machine down at all. My processor is 2GHz and I only have 3GB of ram.. my computer still runs flawlessly. However, the app itself is a little laggy, but this isn't even v1. It's v0.30 something or other. And it does pretty much everything for Twitter and Facebook, which I love because although I just started Twitter, I use fb extensively. TweetDeck just brings it all home. And also, it's a beta. Think about it this way... it can only get better. Good job to the devs of TweetDeck! This is a great app and it's extremely useful. Now if you could get me an Android-compatible TweetDeck app (for my Hero), I would be ever so grateful. Also, please fix the fb thing while I have your attention. Lol. The fb just has the loading bar... but nothing is happening. The bugs that come with TweetDeck still being in the beta stage is THE absolute only reason I can't give it 5 stars. Other than that, it's great. Keep it up.

The recent updates to the UI weren't the most intuitive. For example adding groups is buried under the Search and Twitter buttons but overall this is the best app for managing multiple search terms, groups and tweeps.

Very sluggish (AIR?) and cluttered in my opinion. iPhone client is decent, but I want to be able to use the same app on both my computer and phone. Desktop version rules that out.

The best aggregated source of Twitter information available today. I, like all other users of the tool, would swear by it's usefulness. The iPhone app is also very well done.

awesome application. definitely something to make your twitter experience a lot better. my favorite is the notifications. its a live feed without having to continuously check for updates.and also, a little retweet feature. much easier than the copy/paste deal.

Best desktop App for Twitter. The "Groups" functionality is absolutely awesome, letting me track updates from different sets of my twitter friends. And what's even better, it also supports facebook!

just didn't like this app. tried it on my desktop for a while, and i just don't like the interface. too much going on, and not as friendly as some of the other ones

I use Twitter exclusively through Tweetdeck, both on desktop and iPhone. Kudos for: Organising all the people you follow into groups; The 1-click/integrated url-shortening + geo tag (iPhone) + twitpic; The Facebook integration (fetch friends status updates, update your status from tweetdeck); The 'quick follow' feature (on the spot 1 click-follow by just entering the user name, which I've used in a bar/ reading a magazine/ at a conference..). WISH LIST: I miss a 'quick search' function on the iPhone (similar to quick follow, without to have to use a search column)

Like the layout in that it efficiently provides a lot of information in a digestible way. However, the syncing could use much improvement. It seems like half the time it loads old tweets and highlights them as new (particularly the iPhone version).

I love it! It's the easiest way for me to collapse my Twitter and Facebook (not MySpace so much) all in one spot without seeing a browser window.

The latest build has some great features/improvements. But the one thing it lacks (as do a lot of apps) is support for Facebook "Pages." Seesmic Desktop just rolled out support for it, but I'm not going to switch just for that. Here's hoping Tweetdeck supports pages soon.

As a Windows user, I can't like that, sorry. It takes a lot of space, there is no way to position/sort the columns freely on screen, there is no drag&drop, there are no contextmenus whatsoever, the customization-options are very rare. It doesn't look operating system native (while still polished, stylish and fancy) and it doesn't feel so in case of usability. All this is because Adobe AIR, I know. But this slows my workflow down and in the long run I can't work with that. 3 Stars only for the great features (groups, autocomplete, backup and so on) and because it's the best of all that AIR-desktop-clients.

Tweetdeck does *not* sync as well as it should. The majority of the time I'm using it, it loads old tweets. On top of that, if you have too many columns, it crashes your iPhone. I enjoy this application for desktop use only - although sometimes it is a bit too complex for simple things. If this were a standalone desktop app, I'd give it 4 or 5 stars. It's very helpful with managing replies, groups, and multiple Twitter accounts.

I'm not happy with how Tweetdeck handles Japanese and Chinese characters. If I can't easily read what other are tweeting, the app. is useless to me.

I love Tweetdeck, I use it 90% of the time. The only problem is if you make a group to big it sometimes misses a someones updates. Other than that if works perfectly. I really like having all mentions and DM's up with a group, and regular stream, all at the same time!
