Seesmic Desktop

My favorite part about this app is it minimizes to the tray - so it's not forcing my other windows to cascade when I have 4+ windows open. That being said, what I don't like about it is when you RT, you can't edit. I like that feature in TweetDeck. I also haven't figured out how to use it to tweet things from the web. TweetDeck did that automatically. I keep going back and forth between the two apps b/c I just can't decide which is more impt. Frustrating.

So far it's the best Desktop Twitter app for my purposes, after trying TweetDeck and Twhirl. It gets better with every revision, I definitely wouldn't have given it 4 stars a few months ago.

I like Seesmic Desktop except a "feature" of most Adobe Air apps I've tried is that fonts are much smaller and finer, and only a few of the apps have any font size control. Seesmic does not seem to (am I missing something?). I've gotten spoiled by the common feature in all major browsers of zooming in. So the inability to do the same in desktop apps discourages their use. (i.e., I'm getting old and my eyesight ain't what it used to be). Otherwise would be 5-star and used very often.

I use Seesmic as l have my computer set-up using googlechrome and it does not yet support my tweets using tweetdeck and this is just as good with facebook also add through connect. An excellent all round application for use on your desk-top using Adobe Air, keep up good work Seesmic. G

Often compared with TweetDeck, a great community of followers around this client, and frequent communications from the developer.

I tried TweeDeck but it was behind the times as far as my needs. I found Seesmic and have not looked back. Best of all it just keeps getting better all the time.

Absolutely the best desktop utility. Easy to navigate and set up is a breeze. My everyday best friend.

Absolutely love this app and CAN'T live without it. Every revision makes it better and better. I've been a fan since it's Twhirl days.

seesmic desktop is my "social media TV." it handles all of my twitter accounts, my facebook status updates AND the facebook fan pages that i'm an admin of. they are also very responsive at seesmic, and new features are updates just about as fast as twitter comes out with them. a good team behind a great product! try it out.

With disclosure, I used to work at Seesmic, but when I was there the company was producing a video conversation platform that was a huge part of my daily social media creation. After I left the company the business model shifted and they created this product. I had started using Tweetdeck as a solution for accessing multiple Twitter accounts, and was quite happy with it. On a whim one day I tried the Seesmic Desktop app - and immediately removed Tweetdeck from my computer. Besides just being a far more elegant application, the functionality and ease of use on Seesmic Desktop is far and away superior to Tweetdeck ... It's nice to see that cute raccoon every day again!

Multiple account support, sizable columns, hell, it even does Facebook. If you spend a lot of time with Twitter, there's no better client.

use it everyday on windows pc, jolicloud ubuntu linux, and mac OSX then it is impossible to miss anything from the streams

I've tried all the Twitter apps and Seesmic Desktop remains the best multi-column Twitter app.

Best client for Twitter/Facebook on Windows, I would say, but also works on Linux and Mac OS. Got all of Twitter's functions such as retweet, follow/unfollow and block/unblock people. You can click on a user or hashtag and see all related tweets in a separate column, even uploading pictures to a (Twitpic like) service of your choice is possible. Sure, Seesmic Desktop needs a stronger computer (sometimes it took about 120MB ram from my system) but this still doesn't change the fact that it is the best cross-platform client out there. 5stars.
