gorgeous geo app / social game from right here in Austin.

It's like foursquare. but has more places to check in that are local to me.

This app is very well designed. I like the fact that you can add pictures to the venues you visit, which is a nice touch. However there doesn't seem to be a way for venues to leverage it as far as I can see today. There are virtual items that are discovered during check ins, but there isn't a clear purpose as to what to do with these items once collected. It's cool to know where my friends are and read the notes about the location they are in, I just don't see the real world benefit to venues just yet. It shows lots of promise and user adoption.

I would love to test it out, especially as I am an avid FourSquare user. Unfortunately, it is not offered on the Blackberry and that is what I am currently using. FourSquare it is!

This is a fun location based app for the iPhone. I also use foursquare, but I think that Gowalla's iPhone app is much more polished and fun to use.

I use this application almost every day and while I'm hoping that they add some of the key things that are missing such as Tips and photos, I love using it. Beautiful and fun all at the same time.

Better than foursquare. Enough said! Create your own spots, interact through items with other people - know where your friends are. Great integration with twitter!

Beautiful app and seems quite reliable. Another location based social gaming like app. Issues I currently have is if my gps is off or inaccurate, I cannot check into a location even when I am standing right outside (prevents cheating). Also, I do not want to see where my friends in other states are checking in, usually I just want to see who is checking in around me. Great potential.

Great design and user experience. This is my new favorite geolocation app. If you are going to tweet where you are, you should be using Gowalla.

It's gorgeous, but I wish it were just a tiny bit more social. But I'm sure it'll get there, in time.
